Laboratory of Computational Physics

The Department of Mathematical Problems in Physics and Chemistry (MPPC) was founded in 1977 on the base of two laboratories. The first one - The Laboratory of Automatical Construction of Algorithms (LACA) was perfomed in 1965. Its first head was V.L.Katkov and from 1968 it is directed by V.P.Ilin. Another laboratory - Mathematical Problems of Chemistry (LMPC) - have been existed in the Computing Center , SBRAS, just from the creation of the Institute in 1964. In different years its leaders were V.I.Burdina, V.D.Kudrin, V.A.Kuzin, V.I.Drobyshevich. At 1994 the Laboratory of Computational Electrophysics (LCE) was organized at our department (chief - M.V.Urev). At 2001 this Laboratory was unified with the LACA and the new Laboratory of Computational Physics (LCP) have been created.

The Department of MPPC includes 5 doctors and 9 candidates of sciences who are experts in Numerical Analisys, mathematical modelling and scientific software. The main topics of research activity are : Computational Algebra, Numerical Methods for the Solution of Differential and Integral Equations Parallel Computing Mathematical Modeling in Electrophysics , Geophysics , Combustion and Chemical Technologies, The Development of Applied Numerical Software and Program Environment for the Solution of Model and Practical Problems.
